Not your
ordinary community information service

County News Online is not your ordinary community information service.
It isn’t about breaking news – we have no staff reporters. It isn’t
about doing in-depth feature interviews… you can get those elsewhere.
County News Online IS, however, about you! It’s about what you and our
young people are doing… organizations serving our youth let us know
what they’re doing so we can let you know. CNO is about upcoming events
and what’s happening in your school districts and at your local
community college: Edison State.
It’s also about parades, Annie Oakley Days and the Great Darke County
Fair.
CNO is about opinion articles you can’t find anywhere else… from Bob
Robinson, Katie DeLand and Abigail Fischer, Susan Olling, Kate Burch,
Aprill Brandon, George Starks, Lois Wilson, Mona Lease and Truman
Bashore. In case you miss them elsewhere, you can also find important
information from Attorney General Mike DeWine, and opinion pieces from
Jim Surber and your local representatives, Jim Buchy, Bill Beagle and
Ohio Senate President Keith Faber.
Sometimes you’ll even find interesting and informative articles from or
about local Edison State students. One example is the article about an
award-winning movie, Presque, written and directed by Edison Darke
County Campus student, Kate Young.

CNO publishes 30-35 new articles every week… most of which you will
find nowhere else. It gets on average 225,000 page views each month
from more than 25,000 unique visitors.
Darke County is a rural county, dependent on agriculture and education
for a strong economic future. Check out regular submissions by local
OSU Extension’s Sam Custer. CNO also offers the latest important
information from the Ohio Departments of Education and Agriculture.
One final note… County News Online is a fundraising arm of Darke County
Scholarship Fund. Net proceeds from sponsors are used for college
