Love Day's Comin'
By Mona Lease

Hi, all!! Valentine's Day is only 18 days away - as I pen this. A reader shared with me that:  "there is much I can use"   from last week's column. Thanks, reader! I strive to bring reality to this column. Sometimes it's ugly to face. But, if we face it together - I think we'll be ok.

I've never liked the idea of one day - Valentine's Day - being "the day" to buy stuff - over-priced as it is - for the day  to show or say "I love you" - love should be everyday - shouldn't it?? Most of the time I hear people's remarks about a loved ones' "actions" being undisciplined or distasteful - not the words "I love you" themselves. I found the following on the internet. Give it a think.

Integrity is telling yourself the truth. Honesty is telling the truth to other people.

The first rule of life is to have a vision for your life.
The second rule is to believe in your ability to figure out things.
The third rule is to have fun making your dreams happen, no
     matter how hard it gets.
The fourth rule is to be patient but, always persistent.
The fifth rule is to respect and love other people who are also
playing this same game of life.

You either get "bitter" or "better." It's that simple. You either take what has been dealt to you and allow it to make you a better person or you allow it to take you down. The choice does not belong to "fate" - it belongs to you.        Josh Shipp

     The 3 C's of Life
     Choice   Chance    Change
You must make the choice to take the chance if you want anything in life to change.

When you choose a "life partner" (husband or wife), you're choosing a lot of things, including your "parenting partner" and someone who will deeply influence your children, your "eating companion" for about 20,000 meals, your "travel companion" for about 100 vacations, your "primary leisure time and retirement friend", your "career therapist" and someone whose day you'll hear about 18,000 times.

Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next time. Ever Toodles!! MONA
