Once again Senior Scribe Poet Laureate Lois Wilson is on top of the
season with her insightful look at the important events of the day.
This time it’s back to school. This is a poem she wrote when she and
her husband, Jim, were doing literacy tutoring at Wayne Industries.
While acknowledging they were working with adults, she noted -
correctly - the message is valid at any age. Her thoughts are worthy of
sharing with all of our children. Enjoy.
Wilson's completed set of books has a new edition – now six volumes –
of published poetry. Volume 1 is out of print and no longer available,
however Volumes 2-6 are available and are offered as a fundraiser for
Empowering Darke County Youth. Enjoy great poetry and help a child

THOUGHT CIRCLES
Because I read,
Knowledge is mine.
Each word will lead,
As will each line,
To thoughts and dreams
By those who write.
Through books, it seems
They speak outright
Solely to me.
Their views are freed—
This time through me—
Because I read.
