My Friend, The Wren
By Mona Lease

Hi, all!! I had wondered what to write this week. I heard Russian President Vladimir Putin say - on television - that he and US President Donald Trump will work together. I've heard and read that they will work together on the Syrian situation. Ok - so - I heard President Putin say - on television - that it was illegal for the US to sit in the ocean (or sea) and lob 50+ (or however many) Tomahawk Missiles into Syria. Putin further stated that he was going to take this incident before the next UN meeting. Did this really go before the UN? What changed if it did not go before the UN??

I read and hear that the heroin epidemic is out of control. "What are we going to do about it?" is on everyone's lips and minds. I thought an epidemic meant that something was so widespread that it was out of control. Are these people saying that the out-of-control is out of control?? And what did people do about drugs that they said were out of control in the '60s...'70s...and even the '80s?

I have a Caroline Wren who has taken up residence in some brush beside my garage. He is a little bigger than an English Sparrow and colored about the same...chocolate brown....some white markings on his face and cheeks. He does not talk much. He just goes about his business - old leaves, worms, "dirt-pecking" and the like. He takes it all back to his home. I would have never noticed him except that I heard a bird call from the ground...which is most unusual. Birds normally do not talk on the ground - they're too close to their natural predators - cats, dogs, foxes, etc. He's been fun to watch - when he's out on his "shopping trips." I submit the following for you to think on a spell.

We are all just a car crash, a diagnosis, an unexpected phone call, a new-found love, or a heartbreak away from becoming a completely different person. How beautifully fragile are we that so many things can take but a moment to alter who we are forever. - Samuel Decker Thompson

There's nothing you can do to help someone who does not want to help themselves. - Halos and Horns Fun Page

Sometimes two broken hearts find each other and they heal each other, they protect each other, and they love each other for the rest of their lives. - That's life, too

Be yourself. People don't have to like you. And you don't have to care. - Horns and Halos Fun Page

Until you get comfortable with being alone, you will never know if you're choosing someone out of love or loneliness. - Halos and Horns Fun Page

I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrongly so that you can appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. - That's life, too

Trust and Respect. The two easiest things in life for someone to lose and the hardest things to get back. - That's Life 2

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening. - That's Life 2

"We have to realize that our lives could be gone in a split second. There are no guarantees that we will be here this time next month, let alone this time next year. Stop waiting for Friday when it's Monday. Learn to live each day to the fullest. Don't complain. Don't focus on what's wrong. Be grateful for the opportunity to experience each and every day. - 3 am Thoughts

Enjoy the above. Take what you can use. I'm going to go watch my Carolina Wren. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned with him and his ways.

Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next time. Ever Toodles!! MONA
