Don't Be Deceived
By Mona Lease

Hi, all!! From my prior column - "Kruschev Said"...I had wondered why this God (the one we, as a people, are saying needs to be back in our schools, government, etc) would help us since His name has been used as a tax shelter of sorts with tithes to the church and that in return helps reduce the tax you owe at the end of the year with the IRS. (I cite this because if the idea here is to have a relationship with this God...it's kind of a slap in the face to Him... isn't it... if you tithe like you believe He wants and then you take a portion of it back at the end of the year.) This comes about through a W2 (of sorts) the church gives you. Not all churches do this. The following is purely more of the thoughts that get stuck in my mind.

I listened to a conversation the other day. One woman told another woman that she just could not believe that "the guy" had cheated on his wife. (The other woman "fessed up" to the guy's wife). He was so nice - he was so polite - he never said an unkind word. Since my mind had been on the "Kruschev Column" - my immediate thought was: "Are you sure you saw everything?" Aside from the fact that you don't live with this guy...how are his interactions with other people? Did he always do what he said he was going to do? Did anyone keep track of this...did anyone check?

Did anyone watch how he dealt with problems...at work...traffic jams...lengthy red lights...someone not agreeing with him...someone challenging his view on something? Have you ever noticed that when a "lone gunman" opens fire at a job site...a school or the like - people start "remembering?" You'll hear stuff like - "Yeah, come to think of it..he/she was acting odd...not their usual self...more jumpy, etc." You'll hear people say that they would have trusted the lone gunman or the guy who cheated, with their kiddies...with their life.

So, according to the King James Bible: There is God, the Son, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. And there's the other side of this with Satan and the AntiChrist. I have to admit here: With all of the talk about needing this God...I got nosy. What's so special about this God? Why does the cry seem to be - "We need God?" Does this God really exist? And exactly how much power does this God have? According to this Bible...the power is limitless...and so is His love and forgiveness. Sigh...more wondering.

People have been assuring me lately that this God is going to send His Son to "fix" things. Ok, I looked...it checks out...no one knows when the help is going to come though. Meanwhile, our daily lives go on the same. The news is full of violence, drugs/drug-related crimes, shootings, stabbings, armed robberies, etc.

Now here's what I do not understand: "If Someone is coming to  "fix" these things...why isn't anything more being done now?? If you believe Someone with more power is sending help - do you want to be found in front of the tv or computer when the help arrives?

If this Satan has angels here on earth in the same way  that this God has angels here on earth - how would you know who is who? If we do not pay enough attention to the guy in the above conversation I cited - the guy who was polite...who was well-mannered...if we did not know what his true motives were...how would we know when the help this God sends actually arrives?? Thanks for reading.

Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next time. Ever Toodles!! MONA
