Mind, Body, Soul
A Tonic and Food For Thought
By Mona Lease

Greetings, Gals!! With the holidays upon us, I thought I'd say: "Keep up with the limbering and relaxation exercises." Enjoy the following recipes for health and some "food for thought."

Ginger Water: The healthiest drink to "burn all the fat" from the waist, back, and thighs! (This actually does does not burn "all" of the fat...but it does get rid of a good 3/4 of it. I quit with the chemicals in food...most fast-foods, too.).

Some thin slices of ginger root, Juice of one lemon (optional), 1.5 liters of water. Boil the water and add the ginger slices. Let the mixture simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the mixture from the stove and let cool. Strain it. Add a little lemon and drink. (My advice for those of you who want it sweetened - I use cane sugar. The package needs to say "cane sugar." Add it sparingly. I find "sweeteners" add another chemical I do not want.).

Ginger is able to combat high cholesterol levels in the body, thus preventing all kinds of diseases related to this disease.

This powerful drink also helps regulate blood pressure and prevent and fight the formation of blood clots in the arteries.

Ginger water is able to successfully combat joint inflammation, joint problems, and diseases such as rheumatism or osteoarthritis.

This drink also fights free radicals, which are often the cause of cancer.

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce pain and inflammation of joints.

I also know that people who are taking chemotherapy drugs drink a tea like this (or chew/suck the raw ginger comes candied, too)...minus the lemon. I'm told it stops or substantially reduces the associated nausea and vomiting. - Organic Planner

"My Grown-Up Christmas List: No more lives torn apart. The wars would never start. And time would heal all hearts. And everyone would have a friend. And good would always win. And love would never end..... This is my grown-up Christmas list." - Sun Gazing
