secret about labor

Work this 4-letter word chain puzzle to learn Pete’s secret. The last
letter of each answer is the first letter of the next answer. Work up
and down. The puzzle is started for you. When solved correctly, then
reading down, the first letters of the answers reveal how Pete makes
time to get his tasks done.
