Two CCC teams control their own destiny for playoff spots after week seven, while three more CCC teams are still in the hunt – needing to win out and get some help along the way.

And it was Tri-County North taking a huge step forward on Friday with a 28-13 victory over Miami East. With the game in doubt heading into the fourth quarter, the Panthers scored on runs by Michael Olinger and Caleb Lawson to seal the victory.

The Panthers improve to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the CCC, while Miami East drops to 4-3 on the season and 4-2 in the league.

Next up for Tri-County North is a rivalry battle at Twin Valley South, while Miami East travels to Bradford.

And the Vikings will face a Bradford team (3-4, 2-4) that ended a three-game skid with an impressive 37-14 win over Arcanum (3-4, 3-3). The Railroaders used a pair of Johnathan Barbee touchdown runs and another score by James Canan to take an 18-14 lead at the break.

The Railroaders then controlled the second half as James Canan capped a huge night with two touchdown runs, one from 25 yards out and another from 61 yards away.

While Bradford hosts Miami East for homecoming next week, Arcanum returns home to face Mississinawa Valley.

The Blackhawks are a team looking to get over the hump in search of their first win and was within striking distance with a touchdown early in the third quarter against rival Ansonia.

But the Tigers pulled away in the second half with a pair of touchdowns to take a 34-14 win and keep Mississinawa winless at 0-7 overall and 0-6 in the league.

The Tigers, who improved to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the CCC, hosts Bethel next week.

Bethel (4-3, 3-3) found it’s stride on Friday with a convincing 33-7 victory over National Trail (1-6, 1-5). The Bees used big plays to build a 27-0 lead at the break and then put together a well executed drive in the third quarter to seal the game.

National Trail looks to regroup next week, but it will be tough as unbeaten Covington comes to town.

The Buccs (7-0, 6-0) used three first quarter touchdown runs by Isaiah Winston to get out to a 21-0 lead on Twin Valley South and then cruised to a 47-7 win.

WEEK SEVEN SCORES:

Ansonia 34, Mississinawa Valley 14

Bradford 37, Arcanum 14

Tri-County North 28, Miami East 13
