Stratton Power Products Group to Present June 8 & 9 Event
ROSSBURG, OH (April 17) – Ferris Industries, the commercial mower
specialists for over 100 years, will “Go The Extra Yard” in 2012 at
Eldora Speedway as it transitions from behind the scenes, to the
forefront, with the announcement that they be the presenting sponsor of
the 18th annual $100,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream on Friday and
Saturday, June 8th and 9th.
“We want to recognize Tony Stewart’s loyalty as a longtime customer of
Ferris Commercial Mowers,” said Bill Shea,
Vice President Sales of Ferris Commercial Mowers. “Tony has
been using his own Ferris for several years and this is an opportunity
for us to showcase our products.”
Already the official mower supplier for grounds upkeep at the historic
speed plant, Ferris Commercial Mowers and their increased involvement
will bring groundbreaking news for race teams and race fans
alike. Ferris will have a season-long presence at Eldora and will
be also be part of the Feed The Children Prelude to the Dream on
Wednesday, June 6.
“With Ferris and Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group’s
involvement is the opportunity to build upon an already ‘must-see’
event,” commented Roger Slack, Promoter and General Manager of Eldora
Speedway. “We will soon be revealing some exciting details that
will include a dramatic purse increase, thanks to Ferris, along with
major tweaks to the race format that will add a more competitive edge
for race fans and competitors alike.”
Among the announcements will be a new Friday night format package that
Slack and the Eldora crew have been finalizing with officials from UMP
DIRTcar, the sanctioning group that oversees the Dirt Late Model Dream.
The tweaks to the programming will add a new air of intensity to Friday
night and the overall chase towards Saturday’s $100,000 winner’s purse,
the single richest payday in Dirt Late Model racing.
