GREENVILLE- When it comes to harness horse racing at the Darke County Fair, Jeff Nisonger has become a name that everyone is familiar with.

Saturday was no exception.

Nisonger drove in multiple races in both the afternoon and evening sessions Saturday and never missed a beat.

When the evening session had been completed, Nisonger had racked up five wins with five second place finishes and two third place showings.

Also coming up huge on the racing stage was Christopher Hope, son of Thomas Hope.
The young Hope, who scored his first money win at Urbana recently, claimed his second career win Saturday in the sixth race of the evening session.

Hope took Lookout Macaroo to the victory in a pacing time of 2:02.

Other local drivers that scored top three finishes were Jeff Bolyard with a second in the sixth behind Quiet Charmer. Bobby Werner took third in the eighth race with Call Me Flash.
Evening session notables were David Brumbaugh with a third in the fifth, driving Enchanted Moonrise to the show.

Local trainer Kent Wilcox watched Charley's Fast Cat take the third spot in the third race.
Racing action will resume Thursday night at the fairgrounds as well as Friday and the Gene Riegle Memorial.

Post times for both days are 1 and 7 p.m. and admission to the grandstands is free. Friday night will be Gene Riegle bobblehead night with the first 1,000 people to buy a program to get a free bobblehead.
