Bradford stays alive in tournamet
Tri-Village, Ansonia also score wins

Bradford softball pounded out 16 hits including home runs from Courtney Miller and Michayla Barga to run rule Troy Christian 14-0.

The Lady Railroaders, behind the pitching of Haley Patty, advanced to the third round of the OHSAA girls fastpitch tournament. Patty pitched a no hitter shutting down the Eagles offense with only one walk and 12 strike outs. Courtney Miller had the catching duties.

Troy Christian’s pitcher was J. Young with three strikeouts and seven walks.

Haley Patty was 3-4 at the plate while Courtney Miller was 1-2 with a HR and a walk. Lindsey Rose was 3-4 with a double, Alisha Patty was 3-3 with a walk, Chelsey Broughman was 3-3 with a walk and Michayla Barga was 2-3 with a HR.

Bradfords record is 17-7 overall, and 8-4 in the league. The Lady Railroaders play Riverside at Russia Tuesday May 15th at 5 o‘clock for sectional finals.

In other county action, Tri-Village hammered Middletown Christian, 14-0. The Patriots will play Newton next Tuesday at Bethel.

Ansonia beat Houston 5-1 Thursday and will play Covington Tuesday at Tipp City in a 5 p.m. start.
