DARKE COUNTY- Nine Darke County teams will be looking for sectional titles in baseball and softball this week.

All games are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Tonight, the Versailles Lady Tigers will get things underway when they face off against West-Liberty Salem in the D-III sectional. In the Tigers sectional opener, Versailles topped Northeastern 10-0, then eliminated Milton-Union 9-1 to reach the final game against the WLS Tigers.

Tuesday night is a loaded night for area teams.

In the D-II sectionals, Greenville will head to Tecumseh to battle Springfield Shawnee. The Wave squeaked out a victoy Thursday, beating Tecumseh 2-1 at Stebbins Field. Also on Tuesday in D-IV competition, Ansonia will hook up with Covington at Tipp City, Bradford will tangle with riverside at Russia and Tr-Village will battle Newton at Bethel.

Ansonia reached the sectional final with a 5-1 win over Houston Thursday while the Lady Railroaders run-ruled Troy Christian 14-0. Tri-Village beat Middletown Christian by that same score of 14-0.

In baseball action on Wednesday at the D-III level, Versailles and Miami East will hook up for the second time this season. The Vikings have proven to be a thorn in the side of the Tigers. Also on Wednesday, in D-IV action, Arcanum and Tri-Village will lock up for the third time this year, this time at Covington.
