Roaders set sights on post-season
By George Starks

BRADFORD- When the 2012 football season began, Bradford welcomed Ansonia in for the opening game of the season.

The Roaders beat the Tigers that night, then won against them just a few weeks later.

With only two losses on the season (Covington 10-0 and Miami East), Bradford will be heading to the post season.

It looks as if Bradford will travel to play Marion Local in Maria Stein (according to jjhuddle.com) but that could change when the official parings come out as this is not official.

"It really doesn't matter who we play or where we go," Enis said. "Those things are out of our control so it really doesn't matter. We are a team and we stick together no matter what. We wait and see who we play and go from there. It will all take care of itself. All we need to do is prepare for the game and the team we'll play."

Long before the 2012 season, Enis knew what he had in this team.

"I could see what I had with this group when I took over the program," said Enis. "This team wanted to do things that hasn't been done here in a long time. These guys have worked hard to accomplish their goals and they've done that."

According to Enis, the team was excited in the locker room after the game but kept things in perspective.

"They were happy to get the win," Enis remarked. "They know they've reached the second season and this was part of their goal before the season started. Right now, we're 0-0 and we're going into a game this week to make an impact on Bradford football. These kids know the opportunity that is in front of them. They are pumped up and they know they are one of 32 teams that gets to play for a state championship is a huge honor. We want to go out and play well but we want to play committed Bradford football."

As a player in high school, Enis never had the privilege of going to the next season.

Now, as a coach, Enis will see the next level with his team, the Bradford Railroaders.

For Enis and the Roaders, it's all about keeping their eyes on the big prize.

The journey starts this week.

The prize is state gold... one game at a time.
