Local teams
gearing up for girls soccer tournaments
The Franklin Monroe and Greenville girls soccer teams are gearing up
for the 2012 OHSAA sectional tournament. The Jets will play Newton
Wednesday October 17 while the Lady Wave will hook up with Carroll on
Saturday, October 20 at 7 p.m.
The 2012 OHSAA girls soccer brackets have been posted with the Franklin
Monroe girls playing their rivals from the Cross County Conference at
Franklin Monroe. The Jets held a 6-3-5 record and was seeded fifth at
the time of the draw while the Lady Indians took a six seed with a
7-5-2 mark.
One of the ties for both teams came against each other earlier in the
season.
In the D-II sectional, Greenville (1-13) will travel to Carroll on
Saturday, October 20 for a 7 p.m. start with the Patriots.
Carroll held a 5-6-2 mark at the time of the draw and was seeded third.
