BRADFORD- The Bradford Railroaders took the sting out of the Bethel Bees Friday with a 26-13 Cross County Conference victory.

Bradford took the opening kick-off at the start of the game and moved the ball right down the field only to come up short and turning
the ball over on downs to the Bees.

The Bees moved the ball to midfield and the Roaders defense stiffened and forced the Bees to punt it away.

The Roaders would not be denied when James Canan broke off to a nice run and put Bradford in great position to score only to have Bethel sack Brandon Wysong.

On the next play The Railroaders finished it off in the end zone with a great catch by Cassel on a pass from Wysong, making the score 6-0 as the PAT failed with 7:34 left in the second quarter.

Bethel received the ball and again the Railroader defense brought the house with a couple of sacks and a tackle for loss and once again the Bees had to punt it away.

The Roaders offense took off right where they left and moved the ball back down the field for another scoring run by Canan. Score 12-0 with 4:53 left till half.

The Bees would not go away though, putting together a scoring drive that brought the score to 12-6 with a little over two minutes left in the half.

Second half

The Bees stung early in the third with a 54 yd pass for the score. With the PAT being good making the score 13-12, Bethel.

Bradford went right back to work and moving the ball back down the field one first down at a time and then finding pay dirt to take the lead with six and a two
point conversion to make the score 20-13. Bradford’s defense took the sting out of the Bees offense by once again, shutting them down.

The defense got the ball back and the Bradford offense put up another score to make it 26-13.

Bethel’s next position was not very productive with Gill coming from a linebacker blitz to sack the Bees Quarterback for a 15-yard loss and the rest is history as they say.

The Roaders defense just shut them down! The offense took the ball, got a first down and got into the victory formation.

Bradford will be at National Trail next Friday with a 7:30 start time.
