By George Starks

DARKE COUNTY- With the prep fall sport schedule well underway, this week will feature some interesting events.

Monday will see the Lady Wave volleyball team hosting the Eaton Eagles, while Franklin Monroe will travel to Ansonia. Bradford will host Houston with Monroe Central (Indiana) going to Mississinawa Valley.

Also on Monday, Troy Christian will visit Tri-Village for soccer while Arcanum and FM will hit the links for a CCC golf match.

Tuesday will prove to be the most interesting sports day of the week.

The Lady Wave tennis team will head to Vandalia-Butler. The Wave is undefeated in the GWOC North, with wins over Troy, Piqua and Northmont. A victory over Butler should give Greenville its second straight North tennis title. That match will be played at Butler, set to start at 4:30.

Also on Tuesday, the Cross County Conference cross country meet will be contested at the Graham Farm, located on Stingly Road outside of Palestine starting at 4:30 p.m.

Versailles, Bradford, Tri-Village, Mississinawa Valley and Greenville will all be in action in volleyball.

The Franklin Monroe Lady Jets soccer team will host Brookville at 7 p.m. while the guys will go to Dayton Christian. Greenville will also battle Trotwood in soccer in a varsity only match at 5:30 p.m.

The T-V boys golf team will host Ft. Recovery starting at 4:15.

On Wednesday, the Lady Wave soccer team will go to Trotwood (7 p.m.) while the Wave tennis team will host Middletown Madison in a 4:30 start.

Thursday, the Cross County Conference golf tournament will tee off at 9 a.m. at the Stillwater Valley Golf Course in Versailles.

In soccer, the FM boys and girls will play at Twin Valley South starting at 5:30 while Tri-Village is at National Trail.

On the volleyball courts, Arcanum travels to Bethel, Ansonia goes to Bradford, Tri-Village is at Franklin Monroe, Mississinawa Valley heads to Modoc to battle the Union Rockets and Greenville is at Butler.

Friday night football will see the second battle of the season between Ansonia and Bradford. The two teams met in week one in their non-conference games with the Railroaders getting the victory.

This is also the Tigers Homecoming game and the 0-4 Tigers would love nothing more than to get their first win of the season. Bradford is coming off a lopsided loss and will be looking to get its train back on the right tracks

In other Football games, Greenville (1-3) will do battle at Centerville, Arcanum (1-3) will play at National Trail, Mississinawa Valley (0-4) will play at Twin Valley South and Versailles (2-2) will host 4-0, Marion Local.

On Saturday, the Annual Tour de Sewer cross country meet will be held at Versailles.

Arcanum will host Bradford in volleyball with the Jets playing in the Minster Invitational.

Troy will take on Greenville in girls soccer action with the FM boys playing at Botkins.
