Cook, Pipenger honored
Accolades continue for Tri-Village
 
NEW MADISON - Even though prep basketball has been over in Ohio for quite sometime, Tri-Village is still is the hoops spotlight.
 
Patriot senior Kyle Pipenger and junior Tyler Cook will be playing in an upcoming showcase event at Capital University on April 21st.
 
Pipenger will play in the Division III and IV boys game, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The Tri-Village senior guard led all Darke County players with 21.2 points a game this season while also pulling down 4.7 rebounds a game and dishing out 4.4 assists a game
 
Pipenger was named the Cross County Conference boys basketball player of the year for the second straight season and was named first team all-Southwest District and second team all-Ohio in Division IV by The Associated Press.
 
During the season, in a game played at Franklin Monroe, Pipenger reached the 1,000 points scored mark in his career as a Patriot. He finished second in career scoring, first in single season scoring, first in field goals made in a season and second in points per game for a season among many other accomplishments at Tri-Village.
 
Cook will play in the Boys Top 100 Showcase Saturday at Capital University. The showcase is a chance for Ohio’s top underclassmen to showcase their skills for college coaches.
 
Cook averaged 13.1 points per game and a team-best 7.8 rebounds per game this past season. He was named honorable mention all-Ohio in Division IV by the Associated Press, was named second team all-Southwest District the AP and was named first team all-CCC by the league coaches.
 
Cook and Pipenger helped lead the Patriots to the regional tournament for the second time in school history this past season and helped guide them to an undefeated regular season.
