Lady Wave tennis drops one to CJ

GREENVILLE- After winning seven matches in a row, the Lady Wave tennis team streak was broken Wednesday as Chaminade-Julienne, losing 3-2.

First singles player, Sophia Navas-Davis lost 6-2, 6-1 to Natalie Allen, dropping her record to 8-32. The loss dropped Sophia Navas-Davis’ season record to 8-2 overall on the season.

Second singles player, Michelle Borgerding remained undefeated on the year, beating Kelly Pleiman 6-3, 6-4 at second doubles. Borgerding now is 10-0 on the season, while third singles player Raquel Navas-Davis topped Brianna Douglas 6-0, 7-5 and improved to 7-1 with the victory.

The Wave first doubles team of Abby Monnin and Mallory Rich lost 7-5, 6-0 to Margrat Duffy and Ashley Huffman in first doubles. It was the first time this season that Monnin and Rich teamed up in doubles play.

At second doubles,  Holly Cameron and Rachel Britsch lost 6-3, 6-1. The duo fell to 1-2 in matches as a doubles team this season.

Greenville fell to 8-2 on the season with the loss to Chaminade-Julienne. The Lady Wave had won their previous seven matches, a streak they started with a win on Aug. 14 against Celina.

Greenville will return to action on Wednesday as it travels to Brookville for a match.
