Galloway Honored As Horizon League Freshman Of The Week
Perseverance pays off and for one Titan rookie

DETROIT- Hard work has definitely come to the forefront as the Horizon League named University of Detroit Mercy freshman and Greenville graduate, Megan Galloway as its Women's Basketball Freshman Of The Week.

The award is the first of the year for a Titan and the first of Galloway's collegiate career as the league changed the accolade this season from Newcomer to Freshman of the Week.
Galloway – who didn't play in the season opener and was limited to just four minutes in the second game of the year – has started four of the last five games in the middle for UDM.

Over the weekend, her play really shined as she helped the Titans win the consolation game of the Florida Atlantic Thanksgiving Classic finishing with a season-high 16 points and tying her season-best with seven rebounds and a block. She was also 7-of-9 from the field.
In the opening game, she tallied what was then a season-high seven points with six rebounds and two assists against Rhode Island.
In the two games, she averaged 11.5 points – third on the team – with 6.5 rebounds – tied for the team high – shooting 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the field.

The Titans return to action this weekend as they play in another tournament, the Toledo Invite. Detroit opens with the host Rockets on Friday at 7:00 p.m., before facing Chicago State on Saturday at 2:00 at Savage Arena.
