The Greenville Wave wrestlers finished seventh in sectional action over the weekend.

Wave grapplers seventh at sectionals
Four move on

Greenville sent four on to the district round of the OHSAA wrestling tournament Saturday.

Nelson Roberts, Nick Woodruff, Ian Warner and freshman William Niebert all qualifird for district action.

Roberts, a senior, became only the ninth wrestler in Greenville history to become a four time district qualifier, finishing first in the 138 pound weight class.

Woodruff was second overall while Warner and Niebert took fourth place finishes.

Cory Bannon placed fifth overall and will be a district alternate.

Kyle Carlisle and Brennan Gettinger placed 6th.

Roberts is 10th for best Senior Record at 39-8. He passes: Matt Guillozet (38-3), Aaron Warner (38-11), Justin Fletcher (37-8), and John Hiller (37-8).

Roberts also has over 100 takedowns on the season with 107.

As a team, the Wave finished seventh.
