softball looks to return to Canton

GREENVILLE- After making an exciting run to the state finals a year ago
and bringing home the silver, Greenville softball coach, Jerrod
Newland, is looking forward to a new season.
With the 2013 winter sports season nearing its end, the Lady Wave
softball schedule is loaded with some great competition.
Greenville will get things started with four scrimmages, beginning
March 17 against Shelby High School.
The Whippets are a member of the Northern Ohio League located in
Shelby, Ohio and is located in Richland County.
Opening day is set for March 30 at Stebbins Field against the Wayne
Warriors and the Milton-Union Bulldogs.
Greenville will host 16 games at Stebbins but the highlight will come
on March 26-27 when the D-II state runner-up Wave will travel to
Loudonville to play in the Champions Challenge.
Greenville has participated in this tournament many times since the
2007 state title team.
The 2013 season has Greenville pitted to play no less than 26 games.
With the construction of Lady Wave Stadium well underway, the 2013
season holds a lot of promise for Wave softball fans.
