Trojan wrestlers take aim at tournament

LEWISBURG- With only eight wrestlers, Arcanum was more than will to show the competition what it was made of at the Tri-County North Invitational as the Trojans finished sixth overall Saturday.

"It was an outstanding effort considering we only had eight wrestlers," said Arcanum coach Andy Marker. "The tough schedule we've had is starting to pay off."

On the day, Arcanum had Keegan Artz place first at the 138 pound class, while four others placed fourth. Adam Oda, Brad Byers and Jared Hofacker all won matches but failed to place, contributing to the team scoring.

"We wrestled with alot more determination and aggression than we have all year," Marker said. "A couple wrestlers finally understand how important weight management is and the results are showing."

The Trojans will next compete on Thursdayat National Trail in a quad meet with Sidney, Lehman, Belmont and the host Blazers.

Individual Results;
103 lbs. Caleb Sanders (9) 3rd place
138 lbs. Keegan Artz (11) 1st place
152 lbs. Chase Gostomsky (10) 3rd place
182 lbs. Lucas Gower (10) 3rd place
195 lbs. Kellan Sanders (12) 3rd place
