Versailles repeats in holiday tournament

VERSAILLES – For the second straight year of the two year tournament, Versailles and Miami East hooked up in the championship game of the holiday tournament.
For the second straight year, the outcome was the same, a Tiger victory.

Miami East held Kyle Ahrens and Chad Winner to a total of 21 points but in the end, the Tigers were able to remain undefeated, dropping a 54-46 loss on the Vikings in the championship game Saturday, giving Miami East its first loss of the season.

Now 7-0, the Tigers will host Parkway Friday in a MAC contest.

Ansonia falls to Houston

ANSONIA- After defeating Union City Friday, the Ansonia Tigers were looking to make it two in a row Saturday.
That wasn't the case as the Houston Wildcats de-clawed the Tigers, 54-36.

Ansonia held a 11-8 lead after one but found the game tied at 15-15 in the second and 18-18 at the break.

The third frame was the downfall for Ansonia as Houston outscored the host Tigers, 12-2, as Ansonia trailed 30-20.
