Second half surge gets T-V past St. Henry

ST. HENRY- The Tri-Village Lady Patriots used a second half scoring surge to pull out a 53-44 victory over St. Henry Saturday.

With the score knotted at 26 points each with 16 minutes in the books, the Patriots got things together in the second half.

With the Patriots holding a 15-10 lead after one, the Redskins put on a surge to gain the tie at the break in a game where the Pats never trailed by more than two points in the game.

Lexie Bruner scored 11 of the Patriots 15 first quarter points, never scored the rest of the day.

When the second eight minutes started, it was Heather Ferris that gave Tri-Village a 17-10 advantage before the Redskins went on the warpath.

St. Henry went on a whopping 16-9 run to close out the half with things even on the scoreboard.

The Patriots outscored St. Henry 12-9 in the third frame to hold a 38-34 lead with eight minutes left to play.

Shaye Thomas led the way with 16 points for Tri-Village as the Pats go to 15-1 on the season. Krystal Falknor chipped in with 14 points while Bruner added 11 in the winning effort.

Tri-Village will return to action Monday when the Patriots plays host to Dixie. It will be a varsity-only match up that will begin at 6 p.m.
