Greenville handles Troy in key GWOC contest
Wave now in first place tie

GREENVILLE- Oh what a difference a year makes.

Coming off a dismal 3-18 season a year ago with just one victory in the GWOC North, the Greenville Lady Wave has turned things around.

Led by senior Megan Galloway's 18 points and Tara Guillozet's 11 in support, the Wave grabbed a 42-31 victory from Troy Tuesday, moving into a first place tie with the Trojans in the GWOC division with a 5-1 mark.

While the offense sputtered at times, the Wave defense shined, holding Troy to 11 first half points but was holding a 15-11 lead at the break.

Things picked up on offense for Greenville in the third quarter as the Wave clinged to an eight point, 27-19 lead.

The victory put the Wave seasonal mark at 9-7 and will see action Saturday at Versailles in a noon junior varsity tip.

Around the county tonight, the Arcanum Trojans will look to get back on track tonight in a Cross County Conference battle at Ansonia. The two squads have met twice this season with the Trojans winning both games. Ansonia is coming in fresh off a victory over Fairlawn Saturday.

Elsewhere, Tri-Village will visit Bradford, Franklin Monroe will travel to Newton and Mississinawa Valley will host Houston in a non-conference game.

In the MAC, the Versailles Lady Tigers will be home with Marion Local.

Friday's sportscard will see the undefeated Tri-Village Patriots heading to Bethel in a game that will determine the Cross County Conference title.

Currently, the Bees and the Covington Buccaneers have one conference loss as the Patriots dropped that loss on the Buccs last Friday at Covington.

The Bees lone loss came at the hands of Covington earlier in the season.

Arcanum will entertain Twin Valley South while Franklin Monroe will welcome National Trail. Miami East will head to Mississinawa Valley and Bradford will be at home with Tri-County North.

Ansonia will be idle until Saturday when the Tigers will host Xenia Christian.

In the GWOC, Trotwood will travel to Greenville.

In the MAC, the Versailles Tigers will look to get back to their winning ways at Marion Local. Versailles has lost two straight conference games with the most recent being a loss to Ft. Recovery last Friday, 61-60.
