Versailles Bowling
Versailles Girls Varsity Bowlers Remain Undefeated

Northland Lanes in Lima was the setting for the Lady Tigers of Versailles going up against the Lady Redskins of Wapakoneta. “Wapak is not quite as strong as in years past, but this should still be a tough match for the girls,” said Coach Phlipot. Versailles jumped to an 84 pin  lead after game 1 by rolling and 815 to Wapak’s 731. The second game also went to Versailles 837-743. 4 out of the 5 Baker Games went to the Lady Tigers, 157-132, 179-133, 120-150, 171-120 and 160-130. The total score was 2,439 to 2,139.

Leading scores were Megan Monnin 189, Hannah Niekamp 183 and  Brooke Wehrkamp 180.

On Saturday, December 29th, Versailles was up against Marion Local at Community Lanes in Minster. The Tigers had no problem with the Flyers and dominated the match. Regular game scores were 783-623 and 912-634. The Baker games also belonged to the Lady Tigers. Games were as follows:  135-157, 141-81, 152-120, 151-127 and 169-137. The final score was 2,443 to 1,879. Leading scorers were Megan Ward 201, Brooke Wehrkamp 189 and Paige Holsapple 186 & 183.

“Every week the girls are getting a little bit better. If one or two girls are struggling, the others are stepping up and making it happen.”

The 3rd Annual Ladies Auxiliary Eagles Breakfast to benefit the Versailles High School Bowling Program is set for January 27th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The bowling team and coaches will be on hand to serve you! Tickets for a 42” LED HDTV or an Apple iPad will also be available. The drawing will be at 12:00 pm.
