USA Today final basketball poll: See where UD finished

An amazing run through the NCAA tournament ending with an Elite 8 appearance by the University of Dayton captured the attention of the nation for a few weeks.

However, it was only good enough to claim the No. 18 spot in the final USA Today coaches basketball poll of the season.

UD — one of the hottest media stories in the country for a few weeks — tied with Baylor in the No. 18 spot.

That’s sure to be off-season fodder for fans of the Flyers, who finished a spot behind the Syracuse team they beat in the second round.

UD finished just ahead of Creighton, North Carolina and Cincinnati. UConn and Kentucky took the top two spots in the poll, released after the Huskies won the NCAA championship Monday night.
