PITSBURG - On a cold blustery evening, Franklin Monroe hosted its annual Quad Meet, which saw five schools taking part.

On a night when times and throwing distances as well as jumps and vaults weren't the best, it was the FM boys and the Celina girls that would eventually prevail in the end.

On the boys side of the ledger, the Jets barely got by Arcanum and Celina.

The Jets tallied 101 team points while the Trojans and Bulldogs could muster only 98 and a share of second place.

Tri-Village was a very distant fourth with 23 while Ft. Recovery was last on the score sheet with 19 points.

Senior Colin Roberts helped push the Jets cause by winning the 1600 meters, blowing away the field in 4:59.27.

Many of the Jet points were accumulated by seniors Travis Feitshans and Henry Bourne.

Feitshans racked up big points by winning the discus with a toss of 123'-3/4".

Feitshans was also second in the shot put (39'7") and third in the high jump (5'2").

Bourne also contributed to the Franklin Monroe effort with a fourth place finish in the shot put (37'4") and fifth in the discus (96'11.5")

Franklin Monroe also got big points in team efforts, taking first, second, third and fifth in the 100 meter dash.

In the 4X800 relay and the 4X400, the Jets were second behind Celina. The Jets also finished second to Arcanum in the 4X100.

On the girls score sheet, it was Celina standing at the top with 103 points with Ft. Recovery second tallying 81 points.

Arcanum (68.5 points) took third with FM fourth (56.5) and the Patriots last with 41 points.

Tri-Village junior Alisha Hollinger won the 100 hurdles (17.59), 300 hurdles (52.60) and the long jump (14'-6.5) for the Patriots cause.

Senior Abby O'Donnell, heading for Bluffton in the fall, won the discus for the Trojans with a winning toss of 96'-6" and was a distant fourth in the shot put with a 31'-6" put.

Franklin Monroe also shined in the pole vault taking the top two spots while Arcanum senior Sarah Cettnar was fourth.
