strong in tournament run
A look at the past weeks results

The Greenville High School girls softball team will play Springfield
Northwestern in a Division II district semifinals game at
Tecumseh at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20. There are a total of 16 Division
II teams remaining in the Mason regional.
The Lady Wave (26-3) drew a first-round bye, then defeated Ben Logan
8-1 at Stebbins Field in the second round of the West Carrollton 1
sectional. Northwestern eliminated Urbana 14-4 and Tipp City 12-7 in
sectional games last week. In another district semifinal game in the
West Carrollton 1 district, Goshen will play Wilmington at 5 p.m.
Tuesday May 20 at Milford.
In the Pickington 2 district with games to be played at Pickington
North High School on Monday, May 19, the pairings are Jonathan Alder
vs. Heath and Granville vs. Caledonia River Valley. In the Mason
district semifinals it's Franklin vs. Dayton Stivers at Waynesville and
Hamilton Ross vs. Indian Hill at Deer Park on Tuesday, May 20.
In the West Carrollton 2 district, Kenton Ridge will play Springfield
Shawnee at Urbana and Germantown Valley View will take on Bellbrook at
Centerville. Both games will start at 5 p.m. on May 20. Kenton Ridge,
which eliminated Greenvillle in 2013, defeated Meadowdale 38-0 and
Trotwood-Madison 32-0 in tournament mismatches last week.
Versailles outscores Arcanum 14-11
In Division III girls fast-pitch softball, Versailles eliminated
Arcanum 14-11 and will play either Northridge or No. 1 seed
Milton-Union at Northmont at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 20. Milton-Union and
Northridge clash on Monday May 19. Versailles outscored National Trail
(16-5) and Arcanum in sectional contests.
Pairings for Division IV games involving Darke County softball teams
are:
• Franklin Monroe vs. No. 1 Southeastern at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at
Bradford,
• Bradford vs. Ansonia at 5 p.m. Tuesday May 20 at Fairlawn
FM has defeated Twin Valley South 23-2 and Newton 8-5, while
Southeastern has ousted Yellow Springs 20-0 and T-C North 1-0. Bradord
eliminated Mississinawa Valley 14-3 and Tri-Village 9-2, while Ansonia
stopped Botkins 12-2 and Triad 8-1.
