Puthoff to become a Lady Oiler at Findlay

VERSAILLES – Versailles senior Krista Puthoff will be heading to Findlay next fall. Puthoff signed her letter of intent to play basketball there next fall on Thursday.

The daughter of Marlene and Steve Puthoff, Krista had originally planned on a volleyball career, but opted to play college hoops instead.

At the end of her junior season, Puthoff had earned second team all-Ohio from the AP averaging 10.2 points per game and 4.9 rebounds, leading the Tigers to the runner-up spot in the state in D-III.

At 6-foot 2-inches, Puthoff has been a leader in volleyball for Versailles, helping lead the Tigers to a state championship in 2013 and another appearance in the state final four in 2014. She was also named third team all-state by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association.

Findlay is a Division II basketball team that plays in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Oilers finished 12-14 last year.

Before heading off to college, Puthoff will look to help lead the Tigers to another state appearance in Columbus and bring home the state gold in basketball.
