Versailles HS Bowling Results, Week 5

Lady Bowlers Soar past the Blackhawks

At their first home match of the season the Lady Tiger Bowlers defeated Mississinawa Valley 2442 to 1962.   “It is always fun to bowl at home and see those in our community come out to support our team,” said Coach Phlipot. “The girls came out to win and they ended up getting their highest score of the season.” Individual bowlers who rolled high games included Morgan Heitkamp (205), Hannah Niekamp (190, 172), Maggie Hedrick (175), and Brigette Holsapple (169, 162).  The team also came together strong during baker games bringing in 2 out of 5 scores >190. “The girls are really starting to come together as a team and the timing is right.  Our goal is to continue with improvements throughout the season so that we can take a trip to Columbus again in February,” said Coach Phlipot.

On December 26th the Varsity Tiger Bowlers will travel to Coldwater, OH to take on Russia at Pla Mor Lanes.

Boys Varsity Bowling unable to edge past Ft. Loramie

On December 19th at their first home match of the season the Varsity Boy’s bowling team lost a tough match against Ft. Loramie losing with a score of 2558 to the Redskins’ 2683. “This was a tough loss because the boys all bowled very well.  Ft. Loramie was hot and broke many of their school records and we just were not able to come out on top,” said Coach Phlipot. High scores for Versailles came from Kyle Cotner (201, 194), Alex Groff (192, 179), and Brody Hyre (183).  The Tigers did not come together as well as the Redskins in Baker play.  “We were happy to see all of our community supporters come out to cheer on the team.”

The boys will continue to work hard at practice this week and then will travel to Coldwater, OH on December 26th to bowl against the Ansonia Tigers.
