Geesy signs to play football with Baldwin-Wallace College

Union City - Mississinawa Valley senior football player Dalton Geesy hard work has paid off. The 6’3”, 240 lbs two-way lineman for the Blackhawks is signing to play football at the college level with Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH.  The Division III school competes in the nation’s best conference at that level, the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). The Yellow Jackets also have a football strong tradition including a National Championship in 1978 (under the direction of Jim Tressel’s father, Lee) and several playoff appearances and conference titles.

Geesy, who was a 1st team All Southwest District performer, as well as Special Mention All-State, will join the Yellow Jackets as lineman. Also a starter on Mississinawa’s basketball team, Geesy was the cornerstone of the start of the football Blackhawks rebuild in 2015. Despite an 0-10 season, the program showed increased participation both during the season and the summer program, and this was in part due to Geesy’s strong leadership. The son of Stephanie Sigler of Union City, and Don Geesy of Greenville, he will study Sports Medicine at Baldwin-Wallace.
