Versailles High School Bowlers, Week 9

Varsity Men's Bowling take down the Blackhawks

On January 16th at Speedway Lanes in Minster the Varsity Men's bowling team defeated the Mississinawa Blackhawks scoring 2602 to 2263. "The team came together at the match and all the Tiger bowlers did well. All 8 teammates bowled at least one individual game.  It was great to see each team member show what they had worked on during the week prior at practice," said Coach Phlipot. Brandon Bradley bowled a high game with a 183.  Quayd Pearson also had his season high with a 143. Alex Groff and Kyle Cotner continue to bowl well and lead the team with high averages.  Kyle anchored the team for baker games bowling in the 5th and 10th frames and the Tigers produced their highest baker set with a score of 939.

The next match is at McBo's Lanes on Saturday January 23 against the New Bremen Cardinals. The boys are set to start at 1:00. Please come out to support your local team.

Lady Tiger Bowlers Fall to the Cavs

In a tough match on January 16th the Lady Tiger Bowlers were unable to defeat the Coldwater Cavaliers with a score of 2583 to 2478.  "We knew that we were up against some of the toughest competition in the league and we were ready.  Unfortunately we were unable to execute our spare game costing us the pins necessary to come out ahead," said Coach Phlipot. "The girls bowled well keeping the score tight until the end. We were up 15 pins going into the baker games.  It seemed when we started to struggle, Coldwater pulled together.  It is tough to beat a team that is jiving so well together in baker games.  Their lowest baker score was 178. Our team bowled strong and had their highest overall score for the season."  Leading the way for the Lady Tigers were Makenzie Berning (193,191), Hannah Niekamp (180, 178), Olivia Bruening (186), and Brigette Holsapple (174).

The Tigers will bowl their second home match on Saturday January 23rd against Ft. Loramie starting at 9:45 a.m. @ McBo's Lanes. Please come out to support your local team.
