Teen Revival
Set Me Free skit to be performed at Illumination
By Kalista King

I would like to start out this article by saying that it’s a tremendous blessing to be able to share these uplifting messages with you weekly. It’s amazing to think that I am able to update you about this so called “revival” that is breaking loose in our teenage generation every single week. Some of these articles may be shorter than others, some may hold more information, and some may even be more encouraging than others, but there’s no denying that something truly incredible is happening in the youth of Darke County. I know some of you may not have had any oppertunities to see this revival take place, so it is my pleasure to inform you about it.

This week I am going to reflect back on the Set Me Free skit that I’ve mentioned several times in past articles. Our upcoming Outreach Team, (which is described in a different article), has begun forming through this skit, and now we have another oppertunity to bring this skit to the Illumation Festival in September! For those who haven’t heard of Illumination, it is a big christian rock concert held at the Darke County Fairgrounds. The bands will perform on the coffee house stage (right next to the fine arts building) on Sunday, September 16, 2012. This year’s headliner is the very popular artist, Toby Mac along with Jamie Grace, The City Harmonic, Shonlock, The Quest Band, Reece Lincoln, Tommy Renfro, and Aquire The Fire speaker, Mike Guzzardo.

This year, the Illumination Festival has a new addition on Saturday Night called, Day One. Day One is a huge youth event for teens on the day before the actual Illumination Festival. This event will include games, the I Am Victorious band, the Set Me Free skit, testimonies, and speaker, Mike Guzzardo. When we were asked to perform the skit at this event, there was no way that we could turn it down. Day One will be held in the youth building from 8:00-10:00 PM at the Darke County Fairgrounds, and it will cost $5.00 OR 5 cans per person at the door. This event will be a very powerful night for all who attend so if you or someone you know would be interested in attending Day One, please join us! You won’t want to miss it!
