One Last Goodbye
By Christy L. Riley

1 just a face in the crowd
numbering the thousands;
purpose and reason,
so much love and life,
much to live for-too short of time,
why so dreadfully early
to leave so much behind?

2 may these words be in memory
of those we have loved
for so very long
oh how it hurts
to say so
yet we must part
if not just for awhile
before again we see
each other face to face

goodbye to the one
who I love,
goodbye to the one
whose beauty and grace
made me smile,
goodbye to the one
whom made it sunshine even in the rain
oh you truly were the light
of my life and so many…
goodbye, my love, goodbye!

3 as the time comes
for us to say
to one another:
   a final goodbye,
     a last farewell,
        final sayanora,
giving to you a bon voyage,
                a last ciao,
                   in reply adios,…

until one day we meet again
I will remember you
until one day we are together
I will remember you
until time and space join us
I will remember you

4 for every goodbye
       there is a hello
 for every farewell,
        there is hi-ya-there,
             For each sayanora
                there is a hi-now,
For as we say cia and adios
we also can say hello soon….

because there will come a day
when all of our tears will be no more

and all the unknown questions answered
for all will one day be known in full

so then, I shall at last
give to you my dear love
one last goodbye

Selah
