Teen Revival
No Makeup Tuesday, Jericho Walk
By Kalista King

In my last article, I mentioned the Day One event that was held at the Darke County Fairgrounds in Greenville, Ohio last Saturday. I would like to inform everyone that this event went very well, and we had over 200 people attend! Everyone who came very much enjoyed our speaker, Mike Guzzardo, music from local band, I Am Victorious, and EUM's skit team which performed a brand new skit to finish off the night.

This event for the youth was a huge success, as well as the Illumination Festival, which took place at the fairgrounds on Sunday. For those who attended Illumination this weekend, it's safe to say that Toby Mac was more than enough to get us pumped up for the following week.

Many great things have been happening all across Darke County. I have talked to teens from a variety of schools who have said that they are beginning to experience revival in their schools this year. With Corner Shack, Saturday Night Prayer, Youth for Christ, Friend2Friend, and others, we are focusing on helping teens become fully committed followers of Jesus Christ and making disciples of all men. I have been seeing more and more teens step up into leadership this year and do what they feel called to do in order to help others in our schools and communities.

For example, one of my close friends had the idea of having the F2F girls choose a day of the week to go without wearing any make-up. She had heard of a girl who started this in another school, and it really inspired her to challenge the girls in our F2F program at Greenville High School to do it as well. We already have a few girls who are on board with this idea and at F2F this Tuesday, we will be announcing that every Tuesday from now on will become "No Make-up Tuesday" until the end of the school year. We want to challenge the girls in our high school to discover their natural beauty and build self confidence through this idea of No Make-Up Tuesday!

Another idea that we have had is getting our F2F family together even earlier than 7:30 on Tuesday mornings and doing a Jericho Walk around our school. Last year, before we even started F2F, a few people and I got together before school in the mornings and did this Jericho Walk. I got the idea from my friends who live in Lima, Ohio who did a Jericho Walk at many different schools in the Lima area last year. At Greenville, we would meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:00am and walk around the school in prayer for revival. The first day, we started out circling it once in prayer, then every time after that we added one lap around the school until we got to circling it seven times. If you have ready my past articles, it is very evident that God has been faithful to our prayers. However, this doesn't mean that we are just going to quit praying. In fact, other schools in Darke County have heard about the Jericho Walk and are planning on doing it sometime this year as well.

As I've said in the past and have hopefully made it very clear in my articles, there is something marvelous going on with the youth here in Darke County. We are going to need all the prayer we can get as we continue to meet God half way in His mighty work here. As Toby Mac and Chris Tomlin would say, "Greater things have yet to come, and greater things have still to be done in this city." Please keep in tune with me on what God is doing here. You will not want to miss it!
