Teen Revival
A recap: Something Marvelous is going on here
By Kalista King

I would like to focus this article on recapping some of the things that God has been doing in our teen generation over the past year or so. I started writing these articles around springtime last year and have been ever since. At first, I was unsure about how I would come up with an uplifting message for my readers every week, but God was faithful in constantly giving me something to write about.

In my first article, I started out by describing our F2F program that had begun at Greenville High School last year. At the first few meetings, we only had about 10 students each week, but by the end of the year, we had 109 different students on our roster who had came to an F2F meeting throughout the year, and 56 of those students came on a regular basis! F2F has gotten a fire going in our high school, and I'm pleased to say that's not the only thing that has played a part in this revival.

In my second article, I spoke about our Set Me Free skit which evolved through our local EUM youth group, The Corner Shack. At first, our goal for this skit was to perform it in front of the other teens at youth group who were not in it, but because that went so well, we decided to perform it at Greenville and Tri-Village's talent shows. The two performances ended up being such a huge success, and after that people from all over Darke County began asking us to perform the skit in a variety of places. To say the least, this skit had become much bigger than we ever expected it to be, and we were more than happy to use each opportunity we got to perform the skit to bring glory to our God. He has used us to reach many people through this skit, and continues to give us opportunities to perform the skit to this day.

Now with that said, our skit team has been praying about how we can take this skit a step further. In past articles, I have mentioned our idea to start a local outreach team that will travel to different places within Darke County to perform skits, songs, share testimonies, etc. We are still figuring out how all of this is going to come together, but we believe that it will come about when the time is right, and until that time comes, we will continue to pray about it.

Saturday Night Prayer has been another ministry which has played a huge role in this revival. Prayer has been the key to all of this in the first place. Mostly everything I write about in these articles is the fruit to our prayers for revival in Darke County. Saturday Night Prayer has become a ministry here in Greenville for any teens who are willing to go deeper in their faith and spend precious time with The Lord on Saturday nights. It's incredible to see teens from multiple schools come on Saturday nights and spend time in prayer for their schools, friends, peers, family, etc. To me, there is nothing greater than this.

These are just a few things that have played a part in this revival. I could go on and on about all the ministries and positive things that have evolved throughout Darke County, but I just wanted to highlight a few to give you a reminder of what God has been doing here, in our very own county. Let me remind you that it hasn't even been a full year since I started writing these articles, yet look at everything that has been going on since I began writing them! I think there is plenty of proof that something marvelous is going on here. I look forward to updating you throughout this whole year, as we see what else God has in store for Darke County.
