‘Meet the Candidates’
focus of October meeting

The Darke County Republican Mens Club will present its annual “Meet the
Candidates” forum beginning at 8 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, at the
Brethren Retirement Community Staff Cafeteria.
Invited Republican candidates include Jesse Green, Municipal Court
Judge; Mike Bowers, Greenville Mayor; Nancy Myers, Greenville Auditor;
John Baumgardner (Ward 4) and Clarence Godwin (Ward 1), Greenville City
Council.
Also invited are Sen. Keith Faber, and Reps. Jim Buchy and Dick Adams,
to talk about state issues, primarily the highly contested Issue 2. Due
the importance of the local Greenville Schools Levy, GSD Supt. Susie
Reigle has also been invited.
All 20 Darke County Townships will have one Trustee and the Fiscal
Officer position on the ballot in November. County villages will have
their Mayors and some Council candidates on the ballot also. While many
of the positions are uncontested, Republican candidates are invited to
make brief presentations.
The Darke County Republican Men’s Club meets the third Saturday of
every month at 8 a.m. in the Brethren Home Retirement Community’s Staff
Dining Room. A buffet breakfast is included for $6.
The club is currently on a membership drive and welcomes new members
interested in the Darke County community and promoting Republican
leadership. Meetings are open to the public.
