Darke County Center for the Arts will present America's favorite cowboys, Riders In the Sky, for
two performances at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville on
Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13.
  
Riders in the Sky return to Greenville for two performances

Darke County Center for the Arts will present America's favorite cowboys, Riders In the Sky, for two performances at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13. The Saturday show is a salute to Roy Rogers, and features film clips of Roy's greatest moments on screen as well as the songs that the western icon made famous; the salute to “The King of the Cowboys” begins at 8 p.m. The following day at 2 p.m., the Riders will deliver a special performance aimed at youngsters; their “Roundup at Kids Corral” features their Grammy-Award winning music from Toy Story 2and Monsters Inc., as well as rope tricks and laugh-out-loud humor.
 
“DCCA has brought Riders In the Sky to St. Clair Memorial Hall multiple times for many good reasons; these guys are extremely talented, present a delightful, fun-filled show representing the best of American values, and usually sell out the house,” said Keith Rawlins, DCCA Artistic Director. “We are really excited about the special show for kids and their families, which will simply provide a good time “The Cowboy Way” at a very economical ticket price,” Mr. Rawlins concluded.
 
According to DCCA officials, Riders in the Sky's “Salute to Roy Rogers, King of the Cowboys” will trigger memories for those who grew up idolizing the Ohio native, while introducing new generations to a wonderful man and artist. In addition to providing fun facts about the life of the Hollywood star, the performance will highlight Roy Rogers' influence on a generation of musicians and entertainers.
Audience participation will be a component of “Roundup at Kids Corral,” with quartet members Ranger Doug, Too Slim, Woody Paul, and accordionist Joey, the CowPolka King displaying their quick wit as well as their musical expertise.
 
Sponsors for Riders in the Sky's tribute to Roy Rogers are Coppock-Hole Trust and Greenville Technology Inc., while “Roundup at Kids Corral” is sponsored by Family Health. Additionally, the Ohio Arts Council helped fund these programs with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. DCCA also receives funding from the Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial, Ketrow Foundation, and Lydia E. Schaurer Memorial Trust Fund, as well as DCCA memberships.
 
Tickets for the Riders in the Sky Salute to Roy Rogers are $30; tickets for “Roundup at Kids Corral” are $10, both can be purchased by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or dcca@centerforarts.net, or at DCCA's office located within Greenville Public Library, as well as online at www.CenterForArts.net.
