Comforting Comforters collect items for local donations

Comforting Comforters, a local service group founded and run by Rachel and Bridget Unger (a senior at Greenville high school and a 5th grader at DeColores Montessori), is once again collecting items to donate to the homeless of Darke County and the Darke County Animal Shelter and BARK Rescue.

Boxes for local collections are located in Montage Cafe and Tangles...a unique hair & nail salon, both located downtown on S Broadway in Greenville.  Comforting Comforters is collecting the following items: cinch bags, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, single serving tuna packets, body wash/soap, dog toys (like tennis balls, rope toys or similar), cool collars for dogs in the summer, chill pads for dogs.  These items will be distributed through Community Action Partnership in Darke County and animals at the Darke county Animal Shelter and BARK Rescue.

The boxes will be in place and donations can be made through July 6, 2018.

Started in Winter 2018, Comforting Comforters collected 337 pairs of socks, 154 blankets, 26 dog toys and 28 hats - all donated to Community Action Partnership locally, the Darke County Animal Shelter and BARK Rescue).  This was possible because of local businesses that hosted the collection boxes, donations from Lowe's to make the collection boxes possible and the community as a whole.
