Midmark Medical Receives Innovative Technology Designation from Vizient

DAYTON, Ohio, Dec. 7, 2016 — Midmark today announced that Midmark Clinical Solutions has received Innovative Technology designation from Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven healthcare performance improvement company in the country. The designation was based on reviews of Midmark Clinical Solutions by hospital experts who attended Vizient’s Innovative Technology Exchange in September 2016. The event provided medical technology suppliers the opportunity to demonstrate their products and gain direct feedback from 1300 onsite clinical experts and healthcare providers on the impact their products may have on improving clinical care, safety or benefits to an organization’s care and business model.

The innovative display is part of Midmark Clinical Solutions, a series of exam and procedure room design concepts useful in facilities planning. This display featured an exam room ecosystem designed to optimize patient and family conveyance, vitals acquisition, patient-caregiver interaction as well as data collection and documentation. The ecosystem is designed to streamline exam room workflow by helping caregivers easily capture patient data at the point of care and port it directly to an EMR. Featuring a Midmark 625 height- adjustable exam table with an integrated digital scale, the design improves patient and caregiver safety by allowing all patients, including the elderly and obese, to easily transition to the exam table. Connected to Midmark IQvitals®, blood pressure, temperature, SpO2, pulse rate and weight are captured and transmitted seamlessly to the EMR without the risk of transcription errors.

Jon Wells, vice president of marketing, Midmark Medical stated, “We are extremely honored to receive this recognition from Vizient. As the healthcare industry has undergone significant change brought on by new legislation, innovative technologies and changing patient demographics, Midmark Clinical Solutions is helping to redefine the clinical space layout in medical facilities for more efficient patient care. We are dedicated to providing the needed tools to help caregivers rethink workflow and adopt patient-centered design.”

“Due to the number of products and services being released and marketed as ‘innovative’, member hospitals truly value the peer-review system in place at Vizient to help them identify products worth further evaluation at their own facilities,” said Debbie Archer, director of procurement and leader of Vizient’s Innovative Technology program for suppliers. “After a review of Midmark’s Clinical Solutions, Vizient’s member council agreed this solution offers unique and incremental benefit over other products available on the market today, and recommended it for an Innovative Technology designation.”
