Fatal
motorcycle accident on Horatio Harris Creek Rd
On October 15, 2016 at 7:55 p.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along
with Gettysburg Fire, Bradford Fire, Bradford Rescue, and the Darke
County Coroner’s Office responded to the 8500 Block of Horatio Harris
Creek Rd on an injury accident.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a 2006 Harley Davidson
Motorcycle, driven by John Shingler (58) of New Carlisle was east bound
on Horatio Harris Creek Rd. The motorcycle went off the right
side of the road and impacted a utility pole, John was pronounced dead
at the scene.
This accident remains under investigation.
