Florence M. Schwartz

Florence M. Schwartz, age 90, of Russia, Ohio passed away at 6:24 AM on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Versailles Health Care Center. Florence was born April 14, 1927, in Miami County to the late John & Loretta (Cordonnier) Redmond.

Florence is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Patrick J. & Barbara Schwartz of Bountiful, Utah; daughters & sons-in-law, Kathy & Dave Miller of Versailles, Susan & Larry Huecker of McCartyville, Donna Schwartz & Kathy Ford of Centennial, Colorado, Diane & Colin Campbell of Littleton, Colorado and Coleen Schwartz of Provo, Utah; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters & brother-in-law, Marie & Jack Eiting of Portland, Oregon, Patricia Schwartz of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dorothy Redmond of Minster; sisters-in-law, Vera Schwartz of Ft. Loramie, Ruth Neargarder of Frenchtown, Mary Clark of North Carolina and Joan Wright of Piqua; brother-in-law, Kenneth Schwartz of Russia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Florence was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schwartz on August 25, 2005, whom she married February 5, 1948; sister, Helen Redmond; brothers-in-law, Herbert Schwartz, John Jelly, Carl Neargarder and Thomas Schwartz; and sisters-in-law, Norma Jelly and Marie Schwartz.

Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia, Russia Band Association and Russia Alumni Association. Florence was an avid sports fan, especially the Cincinnati Reds, Dayton Flyers and Russia Raiders.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017, at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia with Rev. Fr. Martin Fox celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery in Russia. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia.
