John Jacob Shade

John Jacob Shade, 95 of Lewisburg, Ohio passed away on Friday April 6, 2018 at 6:45 PM at Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community, Dayton, Ohio.  He was born February 1, 1923 in Johnsville, Montgomery County, Ohio the son of the late William & Ethel Louise (Meeks) Shade.  He served his country honorably in the United States Navy SeaBees in World War II from January 26, 1945 until January 9, 1946.  He was self-employed for 40 years installing aluminum and vinyl siding.  He formerly was a member of the Eaton American Legion and the Twin Valley Gun Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son:  William C. Shade; brothers & sisters:  Freida L. (Shade) Wampler, Virgil L. Shade, Louise A. (Shade) Brock, Raymond Shade, Treva (Shade) Schindler, Virginia M. (Shade) McCray,  Dorothy P. (Shade) Weaver, & Melvin Shade.

He is survived by his son:  John J. Shade Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday April 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Gary Oser officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.  Veteran’s graveside services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
