LeRoy Francis Wilson

LeRoy Francis Wilson, 88, of Greenville passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:46 AM at State of the Heart Care Center within Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio.  He was born October 23, 1929 in Odell, Nebraska the son of the late Roy and Frances (McGinley) Wilson. 

LeRoy graduated from Beatrice High School, attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from Peru State Teachers College. He honorably served his country in the United State Army.  He worked at General Athletics and Neff Lettering and then, in retirement, he was a substitute teacher in Darke County Schools for 17 years. He was a committed member of the First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed serving as a table parent for their Logos program.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Kathryn LeNie Wilson; daughter: Lynne Conley; brothers: Woodrow and James; sisters: Virginia and Marcella.

He is survived by his children: Cynthia (Hans Soltau) Larkins of Dayton and Greg Wilson of Columbus; and his grandchildren: Nathan (Emily) MacKendrick, Nicholas Larkins, Benjamin (Brooke) Larkins, Brette (Matthew) Swider, Greta Wilson, Lauren Conley, and Amanda Conley; 6 great grandchildren:

A celebration of LeRoy’s life will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 114 East 4th Street, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. John Person officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be graciously accepted in LeRoy’s honor to the Logos program at First Presbyterian Church or State of the Heart Hospice Care Center.
