Darrell Lee Hanks Sr.

Darrell Lee Hanks Sr., 68 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday December 6, 2018 at 11:13 AM at his residence.  He was born December 16, 1949 in Sweetwater, Texas the son of Christine M. (Hile) Hanks of Abilene, Texas and the late Harlond L. Hanks.

He was a paramedic from 1975 until 1989.  He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church; He became an Eagle Scout on July 11, 1966; he was a recipient of the Silver Beaver; was a Boy Scout Commissioner; Master of Commissioner of Science.

His father precedes him in death.

He is survived by his mother; his wife:  Arlene Kittell of Greenville whom he married July 15, 2017 his sons:  Darrell Lee Hanks Jr. (Crystal) of Fargo, North Dakota, Douglas Lewis & Heather Hanks of Willow Springs, Missouri, Jonathan Clay Hanks of Greenville; daughter:  Marcella Colleen Hanks of Greenville; chosen daughter:  Peggy Barga of Hollansburg; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother:  Michael Hile of Abilene, Texas; sisters:  Tina M. Hile of Phoenix, Arizona, Cherylene Drazee of Sweetwater, Texas.

Services will be held on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 7418 State Route 121, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Brian McGee officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.  Arrangements are being handled by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
