Gregory K. Thornhill

Gregory K. Thornhill, 70, of Rossburg, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2018 at Versailles Health Care Center.

He was born on September 20, 1947 in Greenville to the late George and Mary (Marker) Thornhill.

In addition to his parents, Gregory was preceded in death by his brothers, Doug Thornhill and George William Thornhill.

Gregory served his country honorably as a sergeant in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He was a member of the Darke County Steam Threshers, American Legion Post #353 in Ansonia, Tri State Engine Club, and former member of the Rossburg Fire Department. Along with farming, he had worked at AVCO New Idea, Union City Body Company and most currently was employed at Crop Production Services in Ansonia.

Gregory is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roxie (Rodeheffer) Thornhill of Rossburg, whom he married November 11, 1972; his sons, Mike (Julie) Thornhill of Ansonia and Chris (Emma) Thornhill of Rossburg; his daughter, Becky (Joe) Wendel of St. Henry; his grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, and Nick Thornhill, Cody and Melody Wendel, and Jonathan Thornhill; his brother, Larry (Judy) Thornhill of Rossburg; his sister, Mary Jane (Dean) Edwards of Ansonia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends may visit from 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, and again 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to Rossburg Fire Department, 101 S. Broad St, Rossburg, OH 45362 or to Ansonia Rescue, 225 W Elroy Ansonia Road, Ansonia, Ohio 45303.
