Margie Johnson

Margie Johnson, age 92, passed away peacefully at the Brethren Retirement Community on October 13, 2018.  She was born in McKee, KY, on April 11, 1926 to the late James and Laurinda (Johnson) Smith.

Margie married Dale Johnson from Eaton, OH, on Jan. 24, 1950, and lived in Greenville where they raised their three children.  Margie was a cook for the Greenville School System and at the Darke County Home.  Margie had a great smile and loved to be with her family.  Margie was known for being spunky and witty until the very end, often calling her family and caretakers $h!t @s$ with a twinkle in her eye.

She loved homemaking, playing cards and caring for people. As difficult as it was for her family to see her decline in health during the past several years, Margie is with her Lord Jesus in her Heavenly Home enjoying what she loved most.

Margie is survived by her children: Michael (Janet), Sebring, Florida; James (Janet), Columbus, Indiana; Annette (Craig) Hohnberger, Groveport, Ohio; and grandchildren: Christopher (Stephanie) Johnson; Lauren and Leah Hohnberger.

In addition, Margie, was preceded in death by Dale, her beloved husband of 66 years, her parents and her 5 brothers and 5 sisters

Visitation will be held Friday, October 19, at 10 a.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio, until time of the Celebration of Life Service starting at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Oser and Pastor Ron Isom officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery located outside of Eaton, Ohio.
