Barbara S. (Saintignon) Hiatt

Barbara S. (Saintignon) Hiatt, 82, of Greenville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at her residence.

She was born on August 7, 1936 in Greenville to the late Bernard and Naomi (Thompson) Saintignon.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her daughter, Angie Keiser; and her brothers, Marion, Melvin, and Duane Saintignon.

Barb loved to work hard and play even harder. When she was not working as a nurse’s aide, she could be found at the bowling alley. She bowled for over 35 years, earning respect from many local bowlers. Her skill led her to earn many awards and titles over the years. When she was at home, Barb enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower beds, mowing the yard, and watching the birds. She put many puzzles together and had them framed for others to enjoy. Barb loved to spend time with her family and cooking for them. She was known for the abundance of food that she would prepare for anyone who would join her for a meal. Barb was a follower of Christ and attended Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Union City, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry Hiatt, whom she married on September 25, 1970; her children, Mark (Robin) Hiatt of Lima, Ohio, Monte (Terri) Clemens of Greenville, Marcia (Tony) Sowry of Arcanum, Ohio, Christy (Scott) Evans of New Paris, Ohio, and Kelly (Barry) Paulus of Greenville; her son-in-law, Keith Keiser of New Weston, Ohio, husband of the late Angie Keiser; her grandchildren, Justin Hiatt of Union City, Ohio, Nicole Hiatt of Greenville, Amber (Eric) Adkins of Lima, Ohio, Jason Elchert of Lima, Ohio, Abby Clemens of New Paris, Rochelle Brumbaugh of Greenville, Aaron (Shannon) Holmes of Greenville, Aaron (Ashely) Evans of New Paris, Ohio, Tyler (Christa) Evans of Centerville, Indiana, Alex (Sara) Evans of Bluffton, Indiana, Brandon Evans of Bluffton, Indiana, Owen Paulus of Greenville, Taylor Paulus of Troy, Ohio, Connor Keiser of Fairborn, Ohio, and Cameron Keiser of New Weston, Ohio; her 20 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Kathy Werner of Greenville, Donnie (Betty) Saintignon of Greenville, Danny (Mary) Saintignon of Dawn, Ohio, and Denny (Rose) Saintignon of Webster, Ohio.

A celebration of Barb’s life will take place at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Father John R. White officiating.

Guests may visit with Barb's family on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given in memory of Barb to St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital.
