I Have Questions
By Mona Lease

Hi, all!! OK - so I've been watching - when someone's tv is on - about Donald Trump. People post on Facebook about Donald Trump. I watched Donald Trump say how the Christian group was the least heard of - the least represented - in a "voter" capacity, I'm guessing. He spoke of putting Christianity back in America. (I did not realize it had left.) He alluded to Christianity being put in the White House.

I spoke with a caller recently. It seems that Satan - the "enemy" - got to him and had him convinced he needed to leave his church. Said caller went to a Dr. who told him he was ADHD, medication was prescribed, and now he will be able to concentrate to stay "prayed up" to be able to resist the promptings of said enemy. I have been told I needed to believe God would heal me and I would be healed. I have been told I needed to stay "sober-minded and vigilant"...that I needed to practice this so that it would become second-nature to me. SIGH

So I perused "the Bible" and found a few interesting things. I'm not going to quote chapter and verse here...there's not enough room. This column's point is to search - everything - not just political agendas.

Said Bible speaks (repeatedly) of admonishing one another in love. It speaks of going to a person who has missed the mark (definition of "sin" by the way) and taking a couple of witnesses with you to try to find a workable solution to the errant person's actions. This is done in private to preserve dignity, social status, etc for all concerned.

Said Bible speaks of living in harmony - of "If a man won't work...neither shall he eat" - of all debt's being forgiven every 50th year (called the Jubilee year) - of letting the farmland lay fallow (no crops planted) every 7th year so the soil has a chance to recover itself - of honoring (which is not the same thing as loving) your Father and Mother and of "Fathers (as head of the house) do not exasperate your children."

Said Bible speaks of "train up" a child in the way he should go (this means that you train him/her to live as a part of this world, not that this world owes him/her anything)...and "when he is old he will not depart from it." It speaks out against adultery...about men going to the "accused" and getting the situation under control. (Notice men doing this - they are to be the head of the house.).

My first question is: If Christianity gets in the White House...then will we still have separation of State and Church? The Constitution guarantees us that now...or is supposed to do so. If the State (government) has Christianity in it...could they tell us where to worship (If a church only has, say 200 members..will we be told to go to some larger church)?? Would they tell us that?? Could the government then impose a fee for the Pastor/Father/Reverend to perform a wedding...a funeral...a baptism...a confirmation?? Would they expect tax monies from the said fees??

The above is only a taste. But it gives you an idea of the "flavor."

My final question is: Are we ready for this?? People say they want prayer in the schools - in public places - they want Christianity back in our government - that this country was founded upon it. Prayer in only one aspect of this "Christianity" ...it's actually a way of life...a lived prayer.

Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the furry and feathered ones out there. Be safe and healthy. See ya next time. Ever Toodles!!! MONA
